Last week we noticed additional directional TGSI has been installed around Ivanhoe Station, which is great news for accessibility!
The new indicators extend beyond the station and platform, improving access between key areas and making the station precinct more navigable for everyone.
These new TGSI now guide pedestrians between the bridge stairs and station entrance on the city-inbound side, and between the station entrance and nearby bus stop on the outbound side. Combined with the TGSI on the platforms, the station now supports safer, more independent travel for visually impaired commuters.
Lilly tested the new layout and said it made getting to the bus stop much safer. No more trailing along gutters – she was able to get off the train and onto a bus in just 4 minutes. 👏
We’ve taken a few photos showing the new work, which builds on the success of the original campaign. It’s encouraging to see accessibility being addressed more holistically – not just on the platform, but across the entire station environment.
Thank you again to everyone who supported this campaign. Your voices continue to make a difference. 🙏
